When you dream you are travelling your mind is often exploring how you could or should handle a situation. But, the mode of transportation you use to make your dream journey also is significant. It reflects the approach you are taking towards the situation. For example, if you dream of being on a boat, you may be taking an emotional approach to solving something whereas if you dream of a plane, you may be using your imagination to help solve a problem.

Airplane

Airplanes are one of the most important inventions in history. They allow people to get places quickly while soaring through the skies. For that reason, people often associate planes with innovations and ideas. When you dream of travelling in a plane, you may be thinking about your career, challenges you are facing with it, and perhaps even wondering subconsciously why certain projects of yours have not taken off. You may wonder why things are not happening faster – like the speed at which a plane moves.

However, dreams of planes may also represent spirituality and spiritual questions we have that we may be afraid to confront during waking hours. Some people dream of being on a plane and sitting next to a deceased loved one. A dream such as this may be letting us explore spirituality and the afterlife. Perhaps planes are associated with spirituality because they fly so high in the air, closer to where we perceive heaven to be.

Finally, if you are not facing any career challenges or cannot think of any spirituality questions you may have been contemplating, the plane in your dream may be symbolic of sexual potency because it is so phallic looking. Boats

When you have a dream involving a boat, you usually have emotional issues such as relationship or interpersonal conflicts weighing heavily on your mind. For example, if you find yourself in a difficult relationship, you may dream of being on a cruise with your significant other. Suddenly, the seas turn turbulent and you notice dead bodies around the ship. While this may be frightening, the dead bodies actually represent past relationships. You may be thinking subconsciously what ended those relationships and how that relates to the problems you are having with your current relationship.

However, if you dream you are on a sailboat, you may be feeling happy and content. This may be a sign that you feel you are “sailing” through life. But, you may not see things that way, so the dream may be a way of awaking in you to this realisation.

To dream of a train is often associated with your train of thought. Because trains are one mode of transportation that runs along the ground, when you dream of a train, you are probably using a more logical approach to things. For example, you may be working towards a college degree, but find some of the work tedious and boring. You may worry that you are being lazy or unfocused by feeling this way. You may dream you are trapped on a train and you cannot get off until you reach your final destination. A dream such as this may make you realise it is okay to be depressed about certain aspects of the coursework and it may actually make you feel better in the end to know that you are not being lazy.

I dreamt I was in a vehicle suddenly say the can passing through a thick forest and immediately i gave the driver something in order to find favor of dropping me safety to my destination, when I noticed that he was making attempt to mauless me I hurriedly stepped out of the vehicle and left. I got to a bus stop and was confused where to follow. An attempt of locate my way was proven abortive until I found someone very close to me who came with his car and took me away.

I dreamt I was in a mini bus sitting on the seat behind the driver. There was another girl sitting on the passenger seat next to the driver. And for some odd reason I was carrying here money but also some of my own money. I decided to tuck the girl's money in the pocket behind the driver's seat and tuck my own money in my bra. Robbers came and tried to find any money that was on us but they never found any. So they decided to steal the mini bus. The mini bus overturned but I was the only one who found all her possesions. Some of the possessions I didn't even realize were on me at the time, but I found them. Amongst these items were the my money, my work eppaulettes (I'm a prison wardress) and my passport.

I was lost in a dark world nothing around so black but I could see robbed on someone or something wit trying to get me to go with it ......... it felt so real I wasn’t scared more Curious than anything but then felt like a was Going to a trap ........ that’s all I remember can. Some one help me get answers to watt that might mean

In the past 4 weeks I dreamt of 4 different modes of transportation:

Week 1. I was at a train station await to ride, and realized later that I hadn’t bought a ticket and quickly ran to buy one, unfortunately it left.

Week 2. I was in in Cape Town trying to get on a boat but the weather couldn’t allow me.

Week 3. I approach my Father (who is late) to get into a Black SUV, he had the keys but refused to give the to me, he only gave me the keys of a white car.

Week 4. I was on my way to the US and at the airport was worried about the Visa issued, it was issued under a wrong name and my worry was I will be sent back.

Thanks for making this site. I need help. I have been having dreams lately about needing to call 911 but not being able to dial it correctly, over and over again. I feel lost and frustrated and desperate by the end. Today I woke up with a similar feeling, but I had been trying to text a friend instead. The first part of the dream he was there in person with me, and we were trying to escape a camp that frequents my dreams (usually trying to escape it in some way). We made it out and I went home. He invited me to come live with him in NY. I was at another house and left to walk home. Instead, I caught a train which took me way too far - to the ocean actually. All the while I couldn’t text him yes. I was ready to abandon my life and my business and go live somewhere unfamiliar, but I couldn’t send it. Any by the end I was so frustrated I couldn’t breathe. I hate these dreams. Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.

What is the significance, of any, of dreaming of different modes of transportation? For example when you dream of trains (most often) then planes then boats? I know what each represent but what about all three the link of modes of transportation is their a link?

Hi I've never posted to any site before and I'm curious to why I keep having similar dreams of travelling! It usually starts of with being in an airport all on my own, day time and I'm just wandering around the full airport not really making much sense of where I'm going or what I'm doing but think I'm on my way home! (I'm always aware of wanting to feel good about how I look though as if I'm trying to impress the guys but not intentionally (weird I know) It then can change into night rapidly and change more to a darker tone where I'm lost and a little scared and feel like I'm getting away from something!(Like going to the womans toilet yet it being down and out scruffy and knowone in there! Like horror movie) It always changes though locations and I could be standing literally alone on a train station platform and it being dark! All of a sudden its day time again and I'm walking through streets! Yet feeling anxious still but glad I'm walking round streets where they may be population about that may recongise me ! (I do have major surgery though and have waited a lifetime for this may I add if that helps)! Yeh so I always wake up after that! Similar dreams aswell to that but thats been a repetitive lately ! Hopefully someone could shed as little light to this! Hope to hear back soon dionne! P.S (I have repeated dreams of getting ready trying to look my best and when it comes to leaving to head out I wake up) crazy

This merely sounds as though you are feeling a bit disorganised or not quite settled in your new workplace (which is understandable because everything will be new to you). I'm sure your job will settle down, as will your dreams of missing buses etc.

In my dream, I am riding a bus going to my new work place together with the new hired employees like me, but before we arrived , we stop at a restaurant for meal. But b4 i finished my food, someone told us that all girls will be taking different bus. After paying my meal i have learned that the bus i am supposed to ride on left already, but a lady said that the bus will come back again.

It sounds as though you do not feel in control of your life at all and other people have too much of a say in it. The fact someone else is driving you around and you have all your possessions with you, means that you feel other people are in control of your direction and you have no control yourself. The loss of possessions also means you feel insecure, that nothing around you has any stable foundations. Likewise, the mis-communication with your brother and you not informing him of you coming to stay, means you need to begin to put your life back into order from currently being in disarray and start making some concrete decisions about where you want to be in life yourself.

I was traveling on a tram and didn't know if I was on the right one to take me to my brother's house. I asked the driver if it was the tram for Clifton South, Nottingham and he didn't know as his destination was Harrogate. He got off and asked another driver who also didn't know. I stayed on the tram and had to sleep on it because it stopped running at a certain time that night. When I got off I had lots of possessions to take off. They weren't boxed or bagged and I had to ask a woman to help me get them off before the tram moved to the next stop. Next I was with my partner at the tram stop after phoning him to come and help. He was phoning my brother to see if he could pick us up but I'd had to leave my possessions on the tram. My brother didn't know I was coming as it seems I'd taken it upon myself to stay with him but hadn't told anyone of my plans and he said he was at work (I could see him in my dream and he was talking to my partner whilst driving his car). Later I was with friends looking for my possessions, we found some under trees at the side of a river where they'd apparently been thrown off the tram. One of the friends was in the river, he pushed our car down stream, shouted us and started to swim away, another friend went after him and then yet another shouted me to say they had found my possessions. They were buried in a hole under a pile of small rocks. We started to dig them out and the dream finished.
